When you have leaky pipes, you call a plumber. When you have the flu, you go see a doctor. When your teeth hurt, you go to a dentist. And when your car needs repairs, you go to a mechanic. But why is it people do not seek out a web designer when they make a website?

I have worked in the computer/web design business for many years now, and I have noticed that it is one of the few lines of work where people think they can just do it themselves and do not need a professional.  Well, I am a computer tech, so when my computer breaks I can fix it. However, when my truck breaks down, I do not try to fix it, because I know I would probably do more bad than good. I get a professional to do it. Just like the mechanic who fixes my truck does not try and fix his business computers, he calls me in - a computer professional.

My purpose in writing this post is hoping that you will realize it is a good idea to have your website created and maintained by a web designer. We know what we are doing in this ever-expanding electronic age. And your online presence is important now more than ever before. You would not perform open heart surgery on yourself, so please, entrust your website to someone who can do what really needs to be done.
